This May, Comac Medical proudly celebrates the 20th anniversary of our North Macedonia office. Originally established with headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria, Comac Medical expanded into North Macedonia in 2005 as part of a broader vision to support clinical research across the region. What began as a single-person operation has grown into a dynamic and valued part of our company’s continued success.
The office’s journey started with Gojko Todorovski, who joined as the Local Operating Officer. Over the years, his own professional path has evolved alongside the office, and today he serves as Country Manager of Administration and Liaison. His steady leadership and commitment to nurturing talent have helped shape a resilient and capable team.
From just one employee in 2005, the office grew to 17 team members by 2015 and today supports a close-knit group of 25 professionals. Many of these colleagues have remained with the office for over a decade, with three celebrating 20 years of service and seven others surpassing 10 years, a testament to the team’s dedication and sense of purpose.
Early team members like Larisa Tasevska, Aleksandar Todorovski, Bojana Dzurovska, and Emilija Mitreska continue to play essential roles in the office’s ongoing success. Their experience and leadership have been instrumental in building the strong, collaborative culture that the office is known for.
The North Macedonia office supports a range of departments, including Monitoring and TMF, Regulatory Affairs, Feasibility, Site Support, Medical Writing, and Data Management and Statistics. Over the past 20 years, the team has contributed to more than 150 clinical trials, including bioequivalence studies, playing a critical role in advancing clinical research in the region. Their work has positively impacted the lives of more than 3,000 patients in North Macedonia.
Beyond the numbers, what truly sets this team apart is its people-first culture. From birthday celebrations to the annual Secret Santa tradition, the office fosters a strong sense of camaraderie. There is a genuine joy in working together, a spirit of collaboration and trust that energizes daily work and ensures operational excellence.
Many colleagues have grown into highly skilled professionals; some now serve as department heads across the company, particularly in monitoring, regulatory, and feasibility. Their growth is a reflection of the supportive environment within the office and the strength of peer-to-peer mentorship.
Reflecting on this milestone, Mr. Gjoko Todorovski shared:
